ADMISSIONS & ENROLLMENT

Berkeley International Montessori's Children's House admits toilet-trained children aged 2.5-6 years old. We will occasionally admit younger children should there be available space but we do not offer on-site toilet-training. Please keep in mind that we require a three-year commitment to our program which includes two years of preschool in addition to the kindergarten year.

Enrollment Deadlines

We sustain open enrollment and rolling admissions throughout each school year depending on open spots. We encourage families to apply early our class size is limited and our waitlist is long.

Step-By-Step Enrollment Process*

1. Attend an open house

The first step in learning whether Berkeley International Montessori is right for your family is to attend an open house. Prospective families will have the opportunity to learn more about our unique bilingual program, tour our facilities, meet the staff, as well as gather information on our admissions and enrollment process. Our open houses generally occur twice a year in the evening and are adults-only events.

2. Submit an application

Download our application by clicking here and submit it to our address listed below. You may submit an application even if you have not attended an open house. Kindly note there is a $75 non-refundable application processing fee payable by check to our sister school, AIM, to which you may concurrently apply to by applying to BIM. Submitting an application does not guarantee admission as enrollment is based upon a number of factors. Please send your application and processing fee to the email or postal address below.

3. Schedule a parents orientation and classroom observation

After processing your application, we will schedule a parents-only orientation meeting where we will learn more about your family and educational goals, go over details and next steps in the enrollment process, as well as provide a brief tour of our classrooms in session.

4. Schedule your child's classroom visit

This is your child's first visit with our teachers and classroom. Teachers will work closely with your child in order to get a good sense of their abilities, interests, and next steps in their development. It is an important way to understand our shared goals for your child prior to their enrollment.

5. Complete and submit an enrollment packet

Once your family has decided to join the BIM community and classroom, you will receive an enrollment packet including all state licensing forms, your contract and financial agreement, our academic calendar, and parent handbook, and more. Please submit all paperwork and fees before your child's first day of school by the deadline indicated on your acceptance letter. Welcome to Berkeley International Montessori!
